rock music is a genre which has its root in country music,blues,rhythm,rock and roll ,which entered the music stream in the 1950s.the rock music specially revolves around electric guitar bass guitar drums piano and also some times saxophones and harmaonicas.the purest form of the the blues basically has three chords, a strong chord insistent back beat and a catchy melody.

The rock music on its way of development blended with other genre to for different sub genre.The major sub genre are folk rock blues rock,jazz rock.By the end of 1970s rock was influenced by soul funk and Latin music.At the same time many sub genre of rock such as soft rock, glam rock,heavy metal,hard rock, progressive rock and punk rock.By the end of 1990s had many sub genre which include new waves, hardcore punk, alternative rock, grunge, britpop , indie rock and nu metal.
